An Act to amend the law for the Acquisition of Land for public purposes and for the companies.

Whereas it is expedient to amend the law for the Acquisition of Land for public purposes and for the companies and for determining the amount of compensation to be made on account of such Acquisition.

Certain highways passing through various states were being maintained by the respective states within which the particular highway was situated . Some of the states were maintaining the portions of the highway which criss-crossed within their respective jurisdictions in a proper manner but some of the states, due to one reason or the other , were found deficient in their maintenance , with the result that highways were not being maintained to the desired level. with the increase of movement of traffic on account of industrial advancement and increased tourist traffic it was found necessary that important highways of the country be developed and maintained by the Central Government . To achieve this objective The National Highways Bill, 1956 was introduced in the Parliament.

Where a veterinary inspector is of the opinion that any animal in an animal market is unfit, he may treat it, or cause it to be treated, and take, or cause to be taken, any other steps that he considers necessary to protect it from unnecessary pain or suffering, and he may for any such purpose require the Animal Market Committee to detain the animal in a pen for as long as he considers necessary for the purpose of further treatment or otherwise protecting it from unnecessary pain or suffering.

G.S.R. 494(E).—Whereas the draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Regulation of Livestock Markets) Rules, 2016 were published, as required under sub-section (1) of section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), vide the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notification number G.S.R. 34(E), dated the 16th January, 2017 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), dated the 16th January, 2017, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;

G.S.R. 89.—The following draft of certain rules, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), and in supersession of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Regulation of Livestock markets) Rules, 2017, is hereby published, as required by sub-section (1) of section 38 of the said Act, for the information of all the persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette of India containing this notification are made available to the public;

S.O.269 (E) – Whereas certain draft rules further to amend the Transport of Animals Rules, 1978 were published as required by sub-section (1) of section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960) under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment number S.O. 1164 (E) dated 26th December 2000 in the Gazette of India. Extraordinary, Part 11, Section 3. Sub Section (ii) dated the 27th December, 2000 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of sixty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification are made available to the public

S.O.2465 (E) – Whereas the draft Transport of the Animals Amendment Rules, 2008, were published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960) under the notification of Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forest number S.O 1876(E) dated 31st July 2009 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub Section (ii) dated 3rd August 2009 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification are made available to the public. And, whereas copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the 3rd August, 2009. And, whereas no objection or suggestion has been received from the public in respect of the said draft rules by the Central Government. Now, therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Transport of Animals Rules 1978, namely

S.O.1995(E)- Whereas the draft rules amending the prevention of cruelty to animals (Slaughter House) Rules 2001 were published, as required by sub-section 38 of the prevention of cruelty to animals Act, 1960(59 of 1960) under the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests vide numbers S.O. 3316(E), dated 21st December, 2009 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, part II, section 3, sub-section(ii), dated 31st December, 2009 inviting  objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of forty-five days from the date on which copies of the Gazette  containing the said notification are made available to the public;

G.S.R. 758 (E). In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order, namely
